I’m glad you like them! In a way they were unintentional as I was trying to time the dolphins breaking the surface, but as I went through the pictures afterwards, I just loved the light and texture in those images :)
They’re all amazing, and it’s good to see so many photos grouped together: the viewer receives a real sense of the light and movement and pleasure evident in the scene.
However, the shot above the caption “Leaping in the setting sun” has to be my fabourite, because of the strong impact of the dorsal fin against the foam-speckled, tumbling wavetops.
Thanks Ben, I love that colour too, they swim upside down and it's the light against their bright bellies! All photos were taken with my old, old Nikon 5100 DSLR and a 70-300mm f/4.5! It can be quite tricky to get fast images like these with that camera to be honest!
A joy to read, with terrific photos Alexander! My favourite being the first Stained Glass Dolphins shot. Amazing colours and the anticipation just before a dorsal or tail fin breaks the surface. Brilliant!
These photos are pure joy and I absolutely love them 🙏
Thank you Donna, seeing dolphins is so special, and this is the first time I've been able to really capture some of that magic :)
I truly can't choose the photo I like best, but it would probably be one of the stained glass images... beautiful!

I love the poem... the photos are beautiful...
Thank you for the lovely compliment Derek :)

Thank you! I really wanted it to feel more like an immersive, almost abstract post of light and movement, I'm pleased it came across 💙
I also love the texture of the water over the dolphins back in that picture, glad it's your fave!
Looking forward to further variations on the theme…
Utterly gorgeous, Alexander!
Why a beautiful way to start my day....
Best Wishes - Dave :)
Thank you, always lovely to share the beauty of the ocean :)

This is beautiful 💚
Thank you! 💙
How wonderful! Love these photos!
Thank you 💙 taken just off the coast of Mull, between Treshnish and Coll as we sailed past!
I love dolphins and the pictures are great! It's amazing how they swim next to each other and just graze the waves. 🐬
Thank you! It always blows my mind how well coordinated and synchronised they are without seemingly colliding! Very graceful and elegant creatures :)
